There are no requirements. An informal practice is
to write a short introduction to the list in which you may tell how you
came to read The Celestine Prophecy. A housekeeping request is that
messages should be of interest to the entire list. Unless your response
is something that we would all benefit from, it is really best to respond
to people privately.
Copy only those parts that you are replying to, and
"snip" (delete) the remainder. The purpose of including part of the original
post is to provide continuity and a frame of reference. Too much takes
up space and download time.
The mailing list is for the discussion of the principles
presented in the book The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield,
and their application to your own life.
Flemming Funch of New
Civilizations Network became aware of an interest in a mailing list
for The Celestine Prophecy. After searching for a mailing
list, and not finding one, he asked Max Sandor, who helps administer the
newciv.org server, to help create the list. On August 8th, 1995 the list
was created. - Special thanks go out to Flemming Funch, who furnishes the
server for our list, free of charge, on his T-1 line along with newciv.org
and worldtrans.org.
It is fiction. It is generally felt by the people
on this list that James Redfield synthesized several known insights into
the format of a parable to reach a larger audience.
It would be nice to think that the Manuscript exists
on some level, but it is generally felt that it is part of the parable.
Although JR is aware of the existence of the mailing
list, he does not participate on the list. We do not know if he listens
(lurks) on the list or has someone monitor it on his behalf.

In the spring of 1996 a new member joined the list and acted like everyone's
worst nightmare. He picked apart every post and twisted every response. The flames were incredible! The nice,
loving and accepting people on the list did everything in our power to
get this offensive creature off our list. We tried to have his membership
canceled and began to respond to his taunts with some fairly remarkable
language and threats of our own. He responded by calling us "Fluffy Bunnies",
a term he adapted from the "Peanuts" cartoon. He claimed we had no real
focus on the world and wasted our time conversing with people that agreed
with us most of the time. He made us think... we had become what
we had accused him of originally. Since then, the term has been adapted
to mean "us". So now that we all know what we are...let's have some real
discussion.
One of our original members, Pierre Berrigan, had
a world map which pinpointed the location of many list members. Pierre
is no longer adding names to his map and his page has been removed, but
don't despair. Another list member, Henco Kuit, has stepped in to take
his place. Henco's map may be viewed at http://home-1.worldonline.nl/~kuit/tcp/index.html.
To have your location pinpointed on the map, fill in the form at

Because there are so many great books out there, and
titles and authors are so often mentioned in posts, we have compiled a
listing of them. We call it The Celestine Cybrary. In it,
you will find everything from Deepak Chopra to Starbird. You'll find books
on energy and healing to books on the Dead Sea Scrolls and books on the
major religions. You can view this list here.

Basically, NO chain letters! No virus warnings!
Do
a little research before you post to the entire list. Computer
Virus Myths is a good place to start. Chain letters are unwanted
by members of the list. They are unrelated to the topic of CP, allow E-mail
Bots the opportunity to steal your friends email addresses and pass them
on to spammers and clog mail boxes. Also, many people are superstitious
and do not want the burden of such a message.
The FAQ is maintained by Bill Howell. You can email
him at bhowell@mindspring.com,
if you have further questions or items to add/delete from this page. Please
do not email him to subscribe to the Mailing List. To join the list, please
see the instructions above.
