Guidelines for
Recommending New Material

Before suggesting new works for the Cybrary, please read this.

As you've probably noticed, the Cybrary is quite a piece of work with probably over 250 items on it. This makes it quite daunting to look through. Also, you may have noticed that many of the books have only a title and an author. Since putting the Cybrary on the web, we have tried to avoid this situation. Seeing the name of a book but not knowing what is about is not very helpful. Also, many of the books seem to stray from the point of these pages which is to help you through your journey. So, we have decided to ask people to follow these guidelines when suggesting new works for the Cybrary.

  1. What is the Item About?
  2. This is most important thing to include in your suggestion (besides the title, of course). Seeing a title as well as what the book/website/music is about will make it more appealing to those who see it on the Cybrary. Items with descriptions will receive precedence over material submitted without them. Descriptions do not need to be long -- three to four lines will suffice but if you have more to say, feel free. We may, however, edit it. By submitting the item, we assume that you have reviewed it so this should not be a problem.

Also, it will help us in deciding how it is relevant to the Cybrary. We are in the process of splitting up the books into two categories: "Books Relevant to TCP" and "Just Good Books." This is in an effort to make the Cybrary less cumbersome through faster loading and easier navigation.

  3. How is it relevant to TCP?
  4. The point of the Cybrary is to help people with the Insights. We assume that you have read TCP and do know what it is about so we trust your judgment. However, if you're not really sure, relevant subjects might include, but are not limited to, Out of Body Experiences (OBEs), Synchronicity, Auras and Energy, Ligthtwork and other things of that nature. If a book or other item doesn't really have anything to do with TCP or if you're not sure how it would fit, feel free to submit it anyway. Eventually, we may split the items up into subcategories as the Cybrary continues to grow. By categorizing it now, it will be a big help in the long run.

  5. Other Important Information.
  6. Books can be easier to find if you can provide as much information as possible. Besides the author, also try to include the ISBN, the publisher, the year it was published, and anything else that you feel is important. If your submitting a musician, please include their recording label. This information is not necessary, but the more you can give, the better the Cybrary will be.

  7. What if I Want to Submit an Author?
  8. Many people have submitted an author and cited all of his/her works as good. If you want to recommend an author, give us his/her name and some of their more important works and follow the guidelines above. If the author has a specific topic that (s)he writes about, give us a description of his/her work in general as well.

  9. Where do I send my suggestions?
  10. Now that you've collected as much information as possible, you can email it to Bill Howell [bhowell@mindspring.com] with "Cybrary Addition" in the subject line. Usually, I will email you as soon as I can after receiving your suggestion so please include your email address. If you do not hear from me within a few weeks, try emailing me again.

  11. How long before my suggestion will show up?
  12. Please be patient when submitting new material.  I will attempt to update at least once a month.

Thank you for visiting this page and for making my work easier by following these guidelines. I appreciate your comments about other aspects of the Cybrary as well so feel free to tell me your thoughts.
